The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and family-run Calgary based brokerage is looking for a Personal Lines Broker to join their team. Working out of their NE branch location, you will have the opportunity to manage and grow an established book of personal lines clients and play a key role in servicing, retaining and growing the book of business. This role offers a competitive salary, profit sharing, comparable benefits and the opportunity to work a hybrid model after a minimum of 6 months in-office. Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Be the first point of contact for clients
  • Responding to requests, queries and providing value-added services for clients
  • Information gathering and submission to the appropriate insurance companies
  • Prepare submissions and enter information in to company portals
  • Maintenance of electronic and physical files
  • Manage the Marketing of accounts to include new, renewal, and midterm changes
  • Taking a solution-based approach for placing policies and ensuring clients receive policies that meet their individual need
  • Working with underwriters to negotiate rates and coverages
  • Administrative functions as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Client focused team player
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Personal Lines Broker
  • Level 1 or 2 General Insurance License
  • Computer savvy with comfort learning and operating new systems
  • Can do attitude with the strategic agility to help team mates as needed
  • Above and beyond communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective prioritization
  • Ability to work as equally effectively independently and within a team
