Associate General Counsel – Energy Commodities
The purpose of this job is to perform critical legal functions within Client. The role will provide the Client leadership, Latin America, trading, compliance, commercial, credit, operations, and KYC teams with effective advice on key legal and regulatory
- Serves as legal advisor on trading and energy transactions, including drafting and negotiating complex commercial deals, waterborne agreements, tenders, and international consulting agreements.
- Serves as key legal advisor on all licensing and registration for new Latin America business
- Participates in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs, and provides continuing counsel and guidance on implications of all legal matters
- Provides legal support to the Client contracts team, including review and sign-off of various contacts and trade confirms drafted by the Client contracts team
- Identify and Escalate Potential Risk and Communicate Risk Mitigates
- Serves as key legal backup to Associate General Counsel
- Coordinates efforts with outside counsel, as necessary
- Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
