REQUIREMENTS:
- The Dental Assistant shall possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school. Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety.
- The Dental Assistant shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services.
- Bilingual oral communication skills and experience in a clinical correctional setting are desirable.
- Per the Presidential Executive Order 14042, all associates supporting the federal government are required to be fully vaccinated. All applicants will be required to show proof of vaccination upon hire.
Place of Performance: The Dental Assistant Services will be performed on-site in the Health Services Department at the Federal Correctional Institution Dublin, located at 5701 8th Street – Camp Parks, Dublin, CA 94568.
Facility Information: The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Dublin, California, is a low security facility housing female offenders. The institution also has an adjacent administrative detention facility housing adult males on holdover or pre-trial status, and a minimum security satellite camp housing adult female offenders. FCI Dublin is located 20 miles southeast of Oakland on the Camp Parks Army Reserve Forces Training Area (RFTA) Military Base.
Work Schedule: The contractor will normally work Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period (if applicable). A session will equal to one (1) hour. The facility is expected to require an average of eight (8), one (1) hour sessions per day, five (5) days a week. The Dental Assistant’s schedule shall not exceed 40 hours per week. The estimated number of sessions is 2,000 annually. The actual hours of work will be determined by the Health Services Administrator.
