Job Title: Vulnerability Management Specialist
Location: Miami, FL (Preferred)
Alternate Locations: Juno, FL or Plantation, FL
Type: Contract (6+ months) with potential for conversion based on headcount
Work Schedule: 3 days on-site

Company Overview:
A leading company in the energy industry is seeking a Vulnerability Management Specialist to join their team. This role will support vulnerability management efforts across multiple locations, focusing on maintaining and improving system security. The company is open to candidates with two different backgrounds: System Administration and Security Assessment.

Role Overview
The Vulnerability Management Specialist will work closely with the security and IT teams to ensure the secure operation of systems by managing vulnerabilities, applying patches, and ensuring compliance. The role may involve off-hour work for system upgrades and maintenance.
Qualifications
Option 1: System Administrator

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on security and vulnerability management.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Perform upgrades and apply patches to the vulnerability management platform.
    • Monitor and manage the operation of large-scale vulnerability management platforms, including development and test environments.
    • Handle change management processes and ensure system compliance.
    • Conduct routine maintenance, patch checks, and system activity monitoring.
    • Manage tickets and ensure that assets are running correctly.
    • Support off-hour upgrades as needed.
  • Tools & Technologies:
    • Security tools (e.g., Splunk, McAfee, Tanium)
    • Linux
    • Vulnerability management platforms

Option 2: Security Assessor

  • Experience: 1+ years of professional experience in security assessment, with a focus on vulnerability management.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Utilize vulnerability management systems to scan and generate reports according to established processes.
    • Manage and remediate issues identified in the vulnerability management process.
    • Schedule and document remediation work.
    • Collaborate with IT and security teams to address patching problems.
  • Tools & Technologies:
    • Tenable Security Center, Nessus Pro (or similar tools like Rapid7, Nexpose, Qualys, Tanium)
