$80,000- $100,000/year depending on experience and certifications

1st shift

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor that will contribute to our client’s organizational growth conducting and working with the  team to ensure work is at the client’s expectations. 

Qualified candidates must have ship repair experience and knowledge. 

Responsibilities: 
• The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for overseeing and guiding junior inspectors as directed by management and to ensure that they are properly trained.  
• Write and submit checkpoint callout (26-I) forms. 
• Review shipboard drawings and references. 
• Deliver documentation timely and provide prompt input. 
• Attend IG and VG inspections and correspond with customer representatives and production department. 
• Review and correct OQE documents before submitting to Prime Contractor QA department for submittal. 
• Generate TIPS as “prime” contractor and submit to supervisor.  Conduct TIP review with production and ensure TIP’s get closed out at the end of the jobs.   
• Ensure all tools needing calibration are submitted to third party supplier to get calibrated and keep calibration log and records up to date. Assist in maintaining equipment calibration logs and calibrated equipment records up to date. 
• Act as internal auditor as needed. 
• Process approved PCP’s in house and review all PCP’s in house.  
• Conduct preliminary visual and PT inspections.  Support and conduct jobsite surveillance using form QF-8213 and comply with all EHS and Quality policies and procedures. 
• Conduct new hire orientation and NAVSEA 009 standards training.

Requirements:  
• The Quality Assurance inspector should have at least 3 years of experience and must have knowledge of NAVSEA standard items.    
• Possess strong investigative, documentation, technical writing and proofreading skills and ability to take technical information and write them to be accessible to all members of the team.
• Read and understand work specifications, blueprints, standard items and Mil-Standards.  Be able to use Ecel and Word as well as have basic math skills.  
• Strong communication skills verbally and in writing to communicate with Prime Contractor representatives.  
• Ability to read, interpret and follow procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications and drawings.
• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED, able to pass drug screen and have a valid California drivers licens.  
• Able and willing to work onboard ships which will also require be able to climb ladders, scaffold, work in confined spaces and on platforms off of the ground.    
• Willing to travel as needed.
