Job Title: DevOps Engineer- AWS
Location: Remote
Job-Type: 2-5 Month contract
Compensation: $70-85/Hr
Employment Eligibility: Employment Eligibility: Gravity cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer directly (we are not open to contract or “corp to corp” agreements).
Position Overview:
This role will be responsible for participating in the continual evolvement of our clients’ cloud solutions and infrastructure. The individual should have a solid understanding of cloud technology, automated deployment of infrastructure, configuration management, and cybersecurity. Additionally, this individual should have a solid knowledge of working with Containerization in AWS.
Desired Experience:
- Kubernetes and Containerization:
- Design, implement, and optimize container-based environments (e.g., AWS ECS).
- Troubleshoot and enhance containerized applications.
- Participating in migrating on-premises applications to the cloud
- CI/CD Pipelines:
- Develop and update CI/CD pipelines for automated container builds, testing, vulnerability scanning, and deployment across multiple environments.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Create and maintain IaC to deploy, monitor, and manage development, testing, and production Kubernetes environments. Including CDK and CloudFormation
- AWS Cloud Optimization:
- Evaluate cloud environments for cost efficiency, security, and performance. Selecting the correct compute options for the proper use case.
- Implement AWS best practices in monitoring, security, and resource allocation.
- Participate in cybersecurity assessments and evaluations for software applications and computerized systems.
- Client Collaboration:
- Participate in project kick-off and close-out meetings.
- Participate in daily standups.
- Provide ongoing training to clients on DevOps principles and cloud technologies.
- Document the different technologies to display how to properly manage the implemented technologies.
- Prepare and deliver regular status reports and updates.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 5+ years in DevOps roles with significant exposure to AWS, Containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven track record of modernizing legacy applications in a cloud environment.
- Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services (IAM, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, EKS/ECS, etc).
- Proficiency in containerization (Docker/ECS), and orchestration tools.
- Strong coding/scripting abilities (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, or similar).
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and practices.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
- Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Certifications (preferred):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer
