Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist (Senior)
Implementation of EHS Programs such as, but not limited to, Fire Protection, Life Safety, Emergency Planning & Response, Safe Work Permits, Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Confined Spaces, etc.
Support the Implementation of new and updating/improving EOHSS programs, policies, to ensure that they meet company standards, compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, medical surveillance and sustainability laws, regulations, codes, rules, and consensus guides.
Evaluate the performance of contractors safety on site projects, by means of a variety of project management tools and techniques that will ensure EHS activities are effectively executed.
Provide consulting assistance and support on EHS matters to company internal customers as requested.
Prepare, revise and approve, as required, master batch records, SOPs, eCCFs, CARs and validation packages from the EHS perspective to assess if all relevant and appropriate administrative and engineering controls are addressed.
Conducts and supervises accident/incident investigations to determine causes and trends and to develop measures to prevent recurrence.
Implements and enforces requirements through Safety procedures and programs by establishing practices, procedures and policies in conformance with those promulgated by the government regulatory agencies and Corporate guidance.
Provides management and supervision advice and assistance relative to the evaluation of Occupational Safety opportunities and complaints and recommends corrective measures accordingly.
Foments and sustains sound working relationship with government agencies and Corporate EHS. Serves as management representative during EHS regulatory inspections.
PHA process knowledge to perform PHAs evaluation as required under PSM.
Participates in EOHSS operational and tier discussions, EOHSS committees and teams; and EOHSS self-assessments and audits at the direction of the site Director
Be able to work different shifts (For example: second shift (2-10 pm)).
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL
• Bachelor degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry and/or Engineering), or Industrial Safety.
• Demonstrated work experience of a minimum of 4 to 6 years in a Drug Product manufacturing environment in the fields of Occupational Safety.
• Demonstrated work experience of a minimum of 1 to 3 years in managing teams and projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to perform under pressure and capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
• Completely bilingual (Spanish and English)
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint; aptitude and demonstrated proficiency in EOHSSs specific IT applications for reporting and inspection.
