Plant  Laboratory Technician
DUPONT SCHEDULE – ROTATING SHIFTS

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a BPEP Laboratory Technician for engagement at one of our Global clients sites  in Beaumont, TX.  This role is a full-time, fully benefited position. Responsibilities
Work safely and maintain a safe work environment at all times.

Maintain good housekeeping throughout workday.

Run SQC on Melt Indexers. Report all SQC control data to Sample Manager.

Run manual Melt Index analysis as required for LP and HP finished grades. Report to Sample Manager.

As per production grade status, maintain extrusion, OCS instrument, and CMR equipment parameters.

Perform extruder maintenance as needed (screen pack changes, roll changes, die cleaning, maintaining purging, maintaining minimal hopper levels, emptying hopper run-off bins. etc.).

Throughout shift verify that OCS Continuous Film Inspection Systems are fully operational and are quantifying gels accurately with alarms engaged.

Troubleshoot film inspection process and perform equipment validations as required.

Prepare HP hopper car retains. Distribute samples accordingly.

Perform contamination inspection and pellets per gram on HP hopper car samples.

Verify/calibrate CMR equipment each shift and on an as need basis. Report verification/calibration data to Sample Manager.

Perform CMR maintenance as needed (capillary changes, maintaining purging, maintaining minimal hopper levels, emptying hopper run-off bins. etc.).

Perform (FQR) Film Quality Rating on each HP production lines as required.

Run and record High Pressure pellet count once a shift per line.

Run and record High Pressure pellet cut rating and record any irregularities (chips, tails, fines, agglomerates, streamers, etc.) every 4 hours per line.

Run and record PSSD Pellet Shape and Size Distribution once per shift per line.

Keep adequate supply of in-house supplies.  Replenish as necessary.

Maintain current status in WebCAT curriculum.

Complete a relief sheet (all pertaining fields). Include key information that your relief will need to continue uninterrupted operational support.

Qualifications

Bachelors in a Science (Chemistry preferred) is REQUIRED unless equivalent experience is held
1-3 years in a research or quality control based laboratory environment
Computer literacy with experience in MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
