Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking Nutrition Promotor for contract position at our client in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
JOB SUMMARY
The Nutrition Promotor’s role is to provide front-line services to communities and families under the Supporting Healthy Lifestyles for Families in Puerto Rico program. This includes, under the leadership of the Nutrition Coordinator, the active involvement in developing and rolling out the nutrition, physical activity and social and behavior change activities, identifying and developing community linkages, developing/adapting education and behavior change materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Nutrition Promotor will be responsible for implementing nutrition program activities in Puerto Rico. The Nutrition Promotor will provide health and nutrition education through community engagement sessions.
The Nutrition Promotors will also conduct events promoting physical activity among families with young children. Events will include, for example, walking programs in parks, nature hikes, as well as in shopping malls, and other ways of integrating physical activity that can be a component of a family’s daily routine.
The Promotors must have the ability to lead community education sessions and events, to facilitate behaviour change, and to actively engage community groups and leaders to build acceptance and sustainability of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Training, education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, health education or equivalent recognized learning institution plus 3 years of experience in related field or Bachelor degree in dietetics or related field of study with 5 years of experience in related field.
- Proven experience in managing nutrition, health education or related programs.
- Experience in facilitation of trainings and workshops.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
