L1 Validation Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, California
Pay/Salary/Compensation: $35.00/hr W2
Benefits: Paid vacation and holidays and Health benefits Medical, Dental and Vision
Tasks:
- Work onsite in Santa Clara’s lab, Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
- Run client benchmark tests as requested by team members
- Support internal customers (visit other labs to run benchmarks or debug benchmark issues)
- Maintain lab infrastructure (assemble systems from components, configure BIOS/UEFI settings, connect systems to network/KVM, diagnose hardware/software problems, etc.)
- Create/update OS images (install clean OS, obtain/install/update drivers)
- Properly track and prioritize multiple requests and handle occasional high-priority issues with urgency
- Attend daily team scrum (15-30 min/day conference call), report issue progress and resolution in Jira
Required Skills:
- Experience as lab technician or in a tech support role
- Building PCs from individual components
- Diagnosing/fixing PC hardware/software issues
- Installation of operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Android, iOS) and applications
- Some scripting experience (e.g., batch files, PowerShell, Python, Linux shell script)
- Some Excel experience (tabulating test results for review by team)
- Some networking experience (e.g., configuring consumer Wi-Fi or internet router)
Bonus Skills:
- Experience running benchmark software (e.g., 3DMark, PCMark, SYSmark, Geekbench, etc.)
- Experience running performance/analysis tools (e.g., VTune, SEP, EMON, Xperf)
- Some Linux experience
