Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist is a multi-faceted role with responsibility for Revenue Management,  Partnership Accounting, General Administrative and Management Support, and Property Accounting Clerk / Support roles. The Accounting Specialist reports directly to the Senior Vice President, with additional indirect reporting responsibilities to the Executive Team (President, EVP), as well as Property Accounting Manager and Operations Manager. Specific responsibilities include:

Revenue Management

Process expense receipts/reimbursement requests for all employees
Process timesheets for all employees
Manage revenue projections/billing summary
Setup and train new employees on timesheet and expense entry
Provide monthly information to the Vice President for billing
Prepare client invoices as requested
Prepare and process deposits
Track A/R Aging report

Partnership Accounting

Enter payables/cut check for partnerships
Prepare and process deposits

General Administrative and Management Support

401(K) Reports
 Business Insurance
Ordering Office Supplies
Other General Administrative Support Tasks as Needed

Property Accounting Clerk/Support

Responsible for the administration, operations, and fiscal management of various properties
Prepare bank deposits for multiple properties
Communicate with Property Manager regarding approval and accuracy of invoice received
Coding/paying invoices
Compile and maintains W-9s and Certificates of Insurance for vendors
Assist with monthly reports, operating expenses, and budgets
Communicate with tenants and vendors via phone, email, and mail
Review rental statements and invoices for accuracy
Assist in the review of the tenant reconciliations
Provide backup and/or assistance for various administrative duties as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school degree required, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
3-5 years' experience in a similar position if the education requirements are not met. Internship or related work experience are preferred.
Experience in QuickBooks, Yardi and Excel is strongly preferred.

ALLOCATION OF TIME

Business Client Development – 0%
Client / Project Work – 40%
Administrative – 60%

Overnight travel is typically not required.
