A UK-headed and highly acquisitive financial services business is currently seeking an in-house International Tax Manager. Operating on a fully remote basis, you can expect to find a professional and friendly culture with both a strong work-life balance offering. Reporting to the Senior International Tax Manager, the successful applicant’s responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting in the delivery of non-UK tax accounting and tax reporting to Senior Management, including designing and implementing controls and governance for non UK businesses to satisfy Group quarterly tax reporting requirements
  • Ongoing interaction with International business unit finance teams on tax strategy and M&A activity, and to identify areas of tax risk which require additional Group Tax attention
  • Tax support for M&A activity globally, including scoping and reviewing tax DD and structuring of transactions in line with Group tax strategy
  • Management of engagement of external tax advisers (scoping support and review of advice) to provide central oversight of tax advice provided to Business Units to ensure it is adequate and consistent with the tax risk appetite.
  • Oversight of tax compliance process in each business (in conjunction with local finance teams and external advisers), including review of tax compliance (including transfer pricing and CbCR) and payments and ensuring adequate, timely and efficient support is sought and available where needed
  • Scoping and oversight of local tax advice provided by external advisers to ensure it is cost effective and aligned with the business tax risk appetite.
  • Development, management and implementation of transfer pricing policies
  • Monitoring changes to tax legislation to ensure any changes to tax law which affect the business are identified and assessed for their impact. This should include the impact on any existing structures.

The successful candidate does not need to bring prior experience in the financial services, however should demonstrate the following:

  • CTA qualification
  • Corporate & international tax advisory experience
  • Exposure to dealing with M&A tax matters
  • Likely trained in a big 4 international tax/deals team, or holding comparable responsibilities in-house
  • European language skills advantageous
  • Must have the right to work permanently in the UK, without sponsorship requirements
