A large nonprofit providing services and housing to homelessness population in Boston, MA is seeking a Crisis Clinician for a Woman’s Facility.

The Shelter Crisis and Stabilization Specialist’s primary focus is on creating and maintaining relationships with guests in the Woman’s shelter and assisting staff in the promotion of a safe and healthy environment.

The Shelter Crisis and Stabilization Specialist has a primary focus on the direct care of guests and, as such, responds to guests in a timely and professional manner based on the prioritization of guests’ needs. In addition, this position will actively support and train Shelter staff on techniques and methods to minimize secondary trauma while addressing guest needs to the best of all options and resources..

The Shelter Crisis and Stabilization Specialist will also assist guests in connecting with substance abuse, mental health and medical resources when necessary. The Shelter Crisis and Stabilization Specialist is required to make sound decisions and appropriately seeks guidance from a supervisor.

Requirements:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related degree
  • Licensure as an LMHC or LICSW ( to be obtained within 6 months)
  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related degree
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • 3+ years of experience in the Human Services field
  • Knowledge in the areas of trauma, addiction, recovery and mental illness
  • Knowledge of issues pertaining to the homeless
  • Demonstrated skills in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention and de-escalation

Schedule: 40 hours, Wednesday – Saturday 10am-8:30am with possibility of 1 weekly early morning shift.

Compensation Package: Salary is negotiated based on experience and lisensure
