PRODUCT LAUNCH MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Product Launch Manufacturing Engineer needed for a manufacturing company located in Greeneville, TN.  This is a direct hire opportunity with a growing and well established company.  Salary range will depend on experience and training.

Job Description: Responsible for project management of new manufacturing products/process launch from prototype to final product /process implementation   Plans and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant including the purchase of new and maintaining current equipment.  Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.  Confers with management, engineering, new product development, and/or other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the Product Development Team with hands-on project management from prototype to final product implementation to meet aggressive timelines (including proactively anticipate, problem-solve, and develop contingency plans to avoid delays and expedite deliveries).
Project management of prototypes/tooling requirements within the manufacturing facility for all new product development programs.
Coordinate production requirements for pre-build events.
Confer with purchasing for material management for build coordination.
Management/oversight of plant engineering change controls with Operations, Engineering, Product Development and Quality teams.
Review and analyze lessons learned from new product launch processes.  Implement corrective actions for areas of improvement to support and continually improve new product launch processes.
Partnering with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and follow up with Product Development, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering and Quality teams on action items.
Initiate and maintain an active project list with emphasis on continuous improvement
Perform root cause problem solving to implement corrective actions for production related problems
Confers with planning and new product development staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Reviews new product orders and or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery.
Ensures successful launch of all new parts or changes to current production parts.
Create and revise bill of materials, process flows, failure mode effective analysis (FMEA).
Recommends and supports total productive maintenance and single minute exchange of dies.
Confers with management, engineering, new product development and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949 and ISO 14001.
Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement and cost reduction in the execution of the job function.
Complies and shares best practice/lesson learned initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Participate in training as required.
Follow all safety standards and wear all safety equipment as required.

Education and Training:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with new product launch processes.
Automotive experience preferred IATF 16949
Experience preferred in related manufacturing processes (stamping/stamping design/welding/assembly/CNC machining/CNC programming/fixture design/powder painting)
Experience with ERP/MRP systems
Experience with computer aided design/manufacturing software
OEM and contract manufacturing experience preferred.
