A boutique investment bank has an exciting opportunity based in London, on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • The preparation, analysis and documenting the month-end close in accordance with GAAP and FRS102.
  • The review of the month end balance sheet & income statement, ensuring accuracy with respect to correct GAAP & regulatory treatment.
  • Working closely with the Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable department to ensure all monthly billings & customer invoices reconciliations are accurate.
  • The preparation of journal entries and maintenance of general ledger activity.
  • Working on the implementation of new accounting and reporting processes, procedures and controls .
  • Preparation and enhancement of monthly and quarterly MI, including preparing commentary and analysis.


Experience required:

  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a financial services firm performing an accounting / finance role – experience within a broker dealer or prime brokerage business would be highly preferable
  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / CIMA / ACCA).
  • Excellent knowledge of capital markets products (Prime Brokerage, OTC derivatives, Listed Futures and Options, FX etc) and the accounting/reporting of these products.
  • Understanding of public company Sarbanes-Oxley controls and importance of adherence to them.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.



This role is a fantastic opportunity to get great exposure into investment banking at an independent and boutique bank. Candidates without the required experience unfortunately cannot be considered.
