A unique and exciting opportunity has become available at Bruin, for a Technical Accounting Manager based in Bromley (part hybrid with 1-2 days in the office), to join our client on a permanent basis full time within their Accounting and Regulatory Developments team.

 

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience since becoming qualified as a general accountant, but for this role there is also a requirement to be able to write technical papers, therefore reading standards, interpreting this information and putting this into context.

Audit experience is not essential for this role, but we are looking for people that have strong attention to detail and review accounts checking that they comply with standards, alongside reviewing standards as well as IFRS 17.

Responsibilities

  • Produce impact assessments and to support implementation activities in the following areas:

o Accounting standards

o Financial services and regulatory developments, including Solvency II

  • Undertake a technical review of:

o Group annual report and accounts

o Group half year and quarterly announcements

o Entity financial statements

o Regulatory reports

o Other external reports as required

o Quarterly Solvency II QRTs and valuation adjustments

 

  • Ensure that the Group accounting manuals are maintained in line with accounting and regulatory developments.
  • Oversee specific Group technical accounting entries, including share-based payments under IFRS 2.
