Maintenance Mechanic
3rd shift (10PM-7AM)-Monday-Friday
Experience in a Bakery environment preferred, foods & beverage experience a required
Mechanical/Electrical troubleshooting, ovens, chillers, freezers, conveyors, packaging machinery.
Job Purpose
The Maintenance Mechanic must understand all production operations and resolve downtime problems in an efficient and timely manner as well as perform various maintenance tasks including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic.
Essential Functions
Primarily responsible for conducting all preventative maintenance checks and services on assigned equipment.
Perform all PM’s to standard and initiate actions to correct deficiencies as well as maintains accurate records on PM’s conducted and makes recommendations to improve operational status of all equipment.
Makes necessary repairs to equipment through adjusting, repairing or replacing mechanical or electrical system parts and components, using various tools. Test and adjust repaired systems for proper performance. Reads and interpret drawings, specifications and shop manuals.
Fabricates parts by operation of grinders, drill presses, air compressors and other related shop equipment and tools.
Perform mig / tig welding, plumbing, and basic mill and lathe work.
Confidentiality requirement to have access to entire facility and all equipment specifications.
Maintenance technicians are required to provide their own tools as need.
Employee must follow all company food safety and personal safety policies and procedures, and wears PPE as required.
Keeps satisfactory work and attendance record.
Must comprehend, adhere and comply with all GMP’s and Food safety requirements.
Attends all company required trainings.
Good communication skills (i.e. with Line Leads / Supervisors and co-workers).
Demonstrate good team work practices.
Responsible for clean-up of the work area.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
(AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of three to five years related experience and/or training with an industrial maintenance preferred. Baked and frozen dough facility experiences a plus.
Must be able to demonstrate solid electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic skills
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Requires strong oral, written, and communication skills. Bilingual a plus (Spanish).
Requires operational knowledge of computer and Microsoft office software.
